    Greetings upon your Arrival in Lhasa!

    Upon your arrival in the enchanting city of Lhasa, by either train or airplane, you will be warmly welcomed by our amiable Tibetan guide, who will present you with a Hada, a traditional Tibetan ceremonial scarf, symbolizing a warm-hearted welcome.

    Following this, our guide, alongside the driver, will escort you to your accommodation located in the bustling downtown area of Lhasa. During your journey to the hotel, you will have the opportunity to gaze upon the majestic Yarlung Tsangpo River/Brahmaputra River, celebrated as Tibet's longest and largest river, alongside the scenic views of the Lhasa River.

    After you have comfortably settled into your hotel, we recommend taking some time to relax and gradually acclimatize to the high altitude of Lhasa.

    Later in the afternoon or by evening, your guide will rejoin you, bearing traditional Tibetan gifts, to provide you with essential travel instructions and introduce you to your fellow group members.

    Today is dedicated to Tibetan Monastic Culture!

    Embark on a full-day exploration of Tibet's monastic treasures, delving into the profound realms of Tibetan Buddhism and experiencing the monastic life up close.

    In the morning, venture into Drepung Monastery, renowned as the largest monastic institution in Tibet, historically housing over 10,000 monks. As you meander through the Coqen Hall, your guide will enlighten you about Tibetan Buddhist philosophies and introduce you to significant figures within its history.

    You will also have the chance to visit Loseling College (or a comparable institution) to peek into the educational and daily lives of Tibetan monks. A tour through their dormitories will offer a glimpse into their daily routines and living conditions.

    The afternoon will take you to Sera Monastery, one of the 'great three' Gelug monasteries of Tibet, where you will witness the captivating Monks Debate (scheduled from 15:00 to 17:00, Monday to Saturday). Your guide will explain the significance of these debates in monks’ educational progression.

    The day concludes with a group welcome dinner, celebrating the experiences shared.

    Day 03Journey through Lhasa's Heart (Elevation: 3,650 meters; Duration: Full Day)

    Today's Highlights: UNESCO World Heritage Sites - Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple

    After breakfast, embark on a tour that leads you to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple, offering insights into the spiritual lives and beliefs of the Lhasa populace.

    Your journey begins at the Potala Palace, standing as a testament to Tibetan history and culture. Here, you'll unravel the stories and lives of the Dalai Lamas through time and discover the palace's invaluable treasures, including the gilded burial stupas of past Dalai Lamas and the meditation cave of Tibet's 33rd king.

    Following the palace tour, visit Longwangtan Park at the base of Potala Palace for a unique view of the palace and to partake in local Tibetan cultural activities.

    In the afternoon, proceed to Jokhang Temple, the epicenter of Tibetan Buddhism. Inside, marvel at the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at age twelve, and outside, observe the devout pilgrims performing prostrations.

    Morning Departure: Lhasa to Shigatse Expedition

    Embark on a memorable overland excursion from Lhasa to Shigatse, traversing through Tibet's most picturesque landscapes, including its most celebrated lake, awe-inspiring glacier, and a quaint Tibetan village.

    Your adventure begins with a drive across the Gampala pass, elevated at 4790 meters, offering your first enchanting view of Yamdrok-tso, situated at an altitude of 4400 meters. Surrounded by numerous snow-capped mountains, Yamdrok Lake offers breathtaking views, especially of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar, towering at 7191 meters, the loftiest mountain in the vicinity of Lhasa. Continue your exploration around the lake's shore, capturing various scenic views, culminating in a visit to a local village family, where a traditional lunch awaits.

    Proceeding further, you'll encounter the Korola Glacier, the largest glacier within Tibet, situated roadside. The sight of the glacier's ice tongue stretching up the hillside is a testament to nature's magnificent force.

    Your journey progresses towards Gyantse, pausing at the Simila Mountain Pass to partake in the tradition of hanging prayer flags, an act symbolizing prayers for global peace and family health.

    Upon reaching Gyantse, seize the opportunity to photograph the ancient city's charm. The drive from Gyantse to Shigatse unfolds through landscapes of green (in summer) and golden (in autumn) barley fields, punctuated by numerous farms.

    Your day concludes in Shigatse, Tibet's second-largest city. After hotel check-in, rest and rejuvenate in preparation for the forthcoming venture to Mount Everest.

    Day 05From Shigatse to Everest Base Camp – A Day with the Himalayas (B)

    Maximize today to marvel at the majestic Himalayan mountain range!

    After breakfast, set off towards Mount Everest, first crossing the Gyatsola Pass at 5280 meters. The pass offers a preliminary view of Mount Everest, appearing like a nascent lotus behind the mountainous expanse, a sight to behold along your route.

    Entering the Mount Everest National Nature Reserve, you're greeted by the panoramic Himalayan vista at Gawula Pass, 5198 meters above sea level. This vantage point allows you to admire the grandeur of the Himalayas' five highest peaks, with Everest leading the array. This marks your second encounter with Everest.

    The journey continues along the new serpentine road to Everest Base Camp, elevated at 5200 meters. Approaching the base camp, the majestic Everest gradually reveals itself, coming closer with each turn, marking your third sighting of Everest.

    Upon arrival at Everest Base Camp, the colossal Everest stands before you, its peak bathed in the golden light of dusk, offering your fourth view.

    As night envelops, the Milky Way emerges, alongside the illuminated peak of Everest, providing your fifth and final magnificent view.

    Day 06Everest Base Camp to Gyirong Border – From 5200 meters to 2800 meters (B)

    Today, you will journey to the Gyirong Border, experiencing the dramatic landscape transition from 5200 meters to 2800 meters above sea level.

    In the morning, before departing the base camp, visit Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery globally, where monks and nuns coexist at an elevation of 5154 meters.

    Crossing the Himalayas, your drive to Gyirong, at the Sino-Nepal border, spans 380 kilometers. Along the way, the scenery transforms from towering snow-capped peaks above 5000 meters to lush forests and canyon vistas around 2800 meters in elevation.

    Passing Mt. Shishabangma, elevated at 8027 meters, you're afforded a close-up of its three main peaks and the golden allure of Pelku Tso Lake nestled below.

    Descending further, the landscape changes to dense forests, waterfalls, and canyons marking the Himalayan periphery.

    Arriving in Gyirong Valley, you're welcomed by dense forests with snowy peaks towering above. Gyirong town offers a breath of fresh, oxygen-rich air.

    This marks our farewell to Tibet.

    Day 07Gyirong Border to Kathmandu – Transition from Tibet to Nepal (B)

    Today marks your transition from the Tibetan highlands to the heart of Nepal!

    Following breakfast, bid farewell to your Tibetan guide and driver. Upon reaching the Nepal border, our Nepali staff warmly welcomes you, assisting with Nepal visa applications and luggage transport (additional charges apply). A smooth transfer to your Kathmandu hotel is ensured via Tibet Vista's vehicle, concluding the tour services.

    Day 03  Journey through Lhasa's Heart (Elevation: 3,650 meters; Duration: Full Day)

    Today's Highlights: UNESCO World Heritage Sites - Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple

    After breakfast, embark on a tour that leads you to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple, offering insights into the spiritual lives and beliefs of the Lhasa populace.

    Your journey begins at the Potala Palace, standing as a testament to Tibetan history and culture. Here, you'll unravel the stories and lives of the Dalai Lamas through time and discover the palace's invaluable treasures, including the gilded burial stupas of past Dalai Lamas and the meditation cave of Tibet's 33rd king.

    Following the palace tour, visit Longwangtan Park at the base of Potala Palace for a unique view of the palace and to partake in local Tibetan cultural activities.

    In the afternoon, proceed to Jokhang Temple, the epicenter of Tibetan Buddhism. Inside, marvel at the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at age twelve, and outside, observe the devout pilgrims performing prostrations.

    Surrounding the temple, Barkhor Street awaits, offering a chance to perform kora with pilgrims and locals and to explore the ancient marketplace.

    Conclude your day with a visit to one of Lhasa's most vibrant Tibetan tea houses, where you will enjoy traditional sweet tea and gain insights into Tibetan society and everyday life.

    Lastly, explore Ping’an Courtyard, the oldest residential courtyard in Lhasa, to see the living conditions of ordinary Tibetans and discover the hidden Meru Monastery.

    Day 04  Traverse from Lhasa to Shigatse via Gyantse – A Journey of 360 km (B,L)

    Morning Departure: Lhasa to Shigatse Expedition

    Embark on a memorable overland excursion from Lhasa to Shigatse, traversing through Tibet's most picturesque landscapes, including its most celebrated lake, awe-inspiring glacier, and a quaint Tibetan village.

    Your adventure begins with a drive across the Gampala pass, elevated at 4790 meters, offering your first enchanting view of Yamdrok-tso, situated at an altitude of 4400 meters. Surrounded by numerous snow-capped mountains, Yamdrok Lake offers breathtaking views, especially of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar, towering at 7191 meters, the loftiest mountain in the vicinity of Lhasa. Continue your exploration around the lake's shore, capturing various scenic views, culminating in a visit to a local village family, where a traditional lunch awaits.

    Proceeding further, you'll encounter the Korola Glacier, the largest glacier within Tibet, situated roadside. The sight of the glacier's ice tongue stretching up the hillside is a testament to nature's magnificent force.

    Your journey progresses towards Gyantse, pausing at the Simila Mountain Pass to partake in the tradition of hanging prayer flags, an act symbolizing prayers for global peace and family health.

    Upon reaching Gyantse, seize the opportunity to photograph the ancient city's charm. The drive from Gyantse to Shigatse unfolds through landscapes of green (in summer) and golden (in autumn) barley fields, punctuated by numerous farms.

    Your day concludes in Shigatse, Tibet's second-largest city. After hotel check-in, rest and rejuvenate in preparation for the forthcoming venture to Mount Everest.

    Day 05  From Shigatse to Everest Base Camp – A Day with the Himalayas (B)

    Maximize today to marvel at the majestic Himalayan mountain range!

    After breakfast, set off towards Mount Everest, first crossing the Gyatsola Pass at 5280 meters. The pass offers a preliminary view of Mount Everest, appearing like a nascent lotus behind the mountainous expanse, a sight to behold along your route.

    Entering the Mount Everest National Nature Reserve, you're greeted by the panoramic Himalayan vista at Gawula Pass, 5198 meters above sea level. This vantage point allows you to admire the grandeur of the Himalayas' five highest peaks, with Everest leading the array. This marks your second encounter with Everest.

    The journey continues along the new serpentine road to Everest Base Camp, elevated at 5200 meters. Approaching the base camp, the majestic Everest gradually reveals itself, coming closer with each turn, marking your third sighting of Everest.

    Upon arrival at Everest Base Camp, the colossal Everest stands before you, its peak bathed in the golden light of dusk, offering your fourth view.

    As night envelops, the Milky Way emerges, alongside the illuminated peak of Everest, providing your fifth and final magnificent view.

    Day 06  Everest Base Camp to Gyirong Border – From 5200 meters to 2800 meters (B)

    Today, you will journey to the Gyirong Border, experiencing the dramatic landscape transition from 5200 meters to 2800 meters above sea level.

    In the morning, before departing the base camp, visit Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery globally, where monks and nuns coexist at an elevation of 5154 meters.

    Crossing the Himalayas, your drive to Gyirong, at the Sino-Nepal border, spans 380 kilometers. Along the way, the scenery transforms from towering snow-capped peaks above 5000 meters to lush forests and canyon vistas around 2800 meters in elevation.

    Passing Mt. Shishabangma, elevated at 8027 meters, you're afforded a close-up of its three main peaks and the golden allure of Pelku Tso Lake nestled below.

    Descending further, the landscape changes to dense forests, waterfalls, and canyons marking the Himalayan periphery.

    Arriving in Gyirong Valley, you're welcomed by dense forests with snowy peaks towering above. Gyirong town offers a breath of fresh, oxygen-rich air.

    This marks our farewell to Tibet.

    Day 07  Gyirong Border to Kathmandu – Transition from Tibet to Nepal (B)

    Today marks your transition from the Tibetan highlands to the heart of Nepal!

    Following breakfast, bid farewell to your Tibetan guide and driver. Upon reaching the Nepal border, our Nepali staff warmly welcomes you, assisting with Nepal visa applications and luggage transport (additional charges apply). A smooth transfer to your Kathmandu hotel is ensured via Tibet Vista's vehicle, concluding the tour services.
